TO DISCUSS
Martin will send a quotation for the intended work to boundary retaining wall that we
hadn't anticipated - about 15 meters long at approx. (my guess) 135 euro per meter  - 2000 euro.
i think the cost of the actual stone wall on top should remain with Martain as this would heve been in drawings. I will chat to him today about that.

Blocklayers back on site today.

WEEK 10. 19-09-12.

PROGRESS:
concrete retaining wall to be poured today.
4/5 guys on-site - hard at work all day.

TO DISCUSS

wall to boundary is in a bad shape.
it is actually in a dangerous condition/ and will be of no benifit to house
in its present condition when complete (its an eyesore with pieces of
stone and concrete block mixed together).

What I hadnt counted on is the fact that the ground level around the house is a good
deal lower than the laneway beyond the wall (approx 1.5 meter).
This means that the wall must retain the earth behind.
The present wall is only barely acting as a retainer - a more robust solution is needed.

I have a suggestion for this wall to be replaced - I hadnt foreseen that this would have to be a retaining wall so this would unfortunately be an extra. (the cost of a retaining wall)

I have talked to both the engineer and the neighboring owner (actually the girl we purchased the house from) and she is fine with the idea of replacing wall.

Shall I get a quotation from builder for this?
