WEEK 15. 22-10-12.
 
PROGRESS:
 
work begun at above first floor - beam will be cast in place on top to tie 4 walls together.
 
Engineer had a look and is happy.
 
Martin will order timber today for timber frame extension to rear.
 
This will start in the next few days.
 
Id imagine the old and new could be fully roofed before December.
 
Will give them a good chance to be indoors before the bad winter weather.

WEEK 15. 19-10-12.
 
PROGRESS:
 
only got to site at end of week.
 
busy with another job Thurs and Friday.
 
 But there has been great progress...........Floor deck to first floor over existing house is complete.

Timber joists are laid out - propped on existing wall or hanging from walls. A timber plywood deck is laid out and its possible to walk on top - next will be a continuation of blockwork for walls to first floor up to roof level.
 
Also bits like front door, hallway and link between old and new coming on.

WEEK 15. 12-10-12.
PROGRESS:
only got to site at end of day.

blockwork creeping up to above head height in places.

link between old and new  foundations poured and ready. 

we have opted for a block wall betwen oil boiler annd hallway - as opposed
to timber stud that was on drawings - blockwork safer.

they have also started on the repair of existing wall and will be putting blocks up there
Id imagine tomorrow. 
the man in white jacket has worked for 40 years on building sites and is finishing today - I brought him a bottle of whiskey!!

PROGRESS:.

another busy day on - site today.
again, both groundworks team and blocklayers on site.
blockwork up to above head height in places.

link between old and new being marked out, foundations dug and ready to pour tomorrow.

WEEK 14. 09-10-12.
 
PROGRESS:.
 
busy day on - site today.
 
both groundworks team and blocklayers on site.
 
retaining wall to laneway concrete finished and looks good.
wall on top still needed.

the raft foundation to new extension poured.
 
steel reinforcement laid out and checked by engineer.
 
then concrete poured late yesterday - 2 concrete mixers
delivered ready mix concrete.
 
when I left with Oishin at 6 yesterday they were waiting for a second delivery.
