PROGRESS:

 

work begun at above first floor - beam will be cast in place on top to tie 4 walls together.

 

Engineer had a look and is happy.

 

Martin will order timber today for timber frame extension to rear.

 

This will start in the next few days.

 

Id imagine the old and new could be fully roofed before December.

 

Will give them a good chance to be indoors before the bad winter weather.

the timber will be the outside face of a form (mould) to be filled with concrete and steel reinforcement 

this beam rings the 4 sides of house to tie it all together
