WEEK 18. 01-12-12.

PROGRESS:

Below the types doors/ windows I discussed with Munster Joinery.

Order can go in on Monday - to leave a chance of delivery before X mas -

Yesterday would have left us with a better chance -

I have a suspicion that delivery will be after X mas however.

Heritage Sliding Sash Window
timber - to be painted

actual window forms as drawing below:

Few decisions to make..........

I really like the idea of a colourful window to the rear and sides - red/ green etc.

traditional type cottage look - I thinkl it would REALLY enliven/ add to the project.

see example below:

Other decisions:

to the rear (living room)  we had a triple patio door  -
this is not possible by Munster joinery.

The other choices are:

1. Double doors opening out with glazed fixed panel on each side.

roughly same price.......

2. Bi fold door - 1 swing leaf and 2 folding leafs.

about 2/ 3 times more expensive!!!!!

WEEK 18. 23-11-12.

PROGRESS:

sorry - I figured out why I couldnt log into site and fixed it.

see progress below - not as much as to date but the transition from the timber frame team back to blocklayers shows just how slow block work is compared to timber.
Its fairly slow at the moment but a steady team of 3 are up there daily.

Progress:

to rear:
blockwork is being lain around the timber frame carcass.
blockwork attached to timber frame behind with 50mm gap between.
timber first wrapped in a (green) waterproof membrane.
windows frames are built out in a timber stud.
for real window to attach to later.

to front:
dummy chimneys put up.
bit of work to finish roof edges done.

In addition the link is complete (without roof) - side walls only.

Im still chatting to Martin about slate type - will keep u informed.
There may be one purple type slate available - will inform u of
price saving/ increase before making any commitment.
