WEEK 17. 13-11-12.

PROGRESS:

o.k. despite the rumors etc...

work still progressing well on-site

roof has waterproof felt and battens to hold tiles put on.

blocklayers due back tomorrow.

WEEK 16. 08-11-12.

PROGRESS:

front facade looking well - dormers and dummy chimneys being put in.

dormer window - there will be room to stand underneath. (existing windows were much too low to do this)

WEEK 16. 03-11-12.

PROGRESS:

Roof structure in place and looks good.

much progress to old also.

TO DISCUSS:

See photo of space above kitchen below - this was always meant as a storage area.
Having seen it today there is potential for use as a loft space/ den with access by a steep stair or a ladder.................it would be one place with a good view - although roof quiet low..............only an occasionally used space - suitable for reading etc.......
I can stand up at centre under roof - but left and right of this would be lower.
This space would remain open to the kitchen below - with a railing to stop fall to below - and could always be used for storage.

It would however need a velux window (similar to that in the main living area) - we could go ahead and give it this velux window and if there were any complaints then could get retention planning permission (I could do this in a half a day).
It might be worth putting in a window at this stage in any case???

area above kitchen..........with access by ladder or steep stair this space could be used???? reading/ computer den space??? What do ye think? Potential view thru new velux window to left.
